John McCollum

	John 'Tom' McCollum, 92, of Forsyth, Ill., died at 9 p.m. Wednesday, July 16, 2003 in McKinley Court.
	Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 19 at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home with visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday and again on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until time of services.
	Burial was in Two Mile Grove Cemetery in Latham.
	Memorials may be made to Forsyth United Methodist Church.
	John was born December 27, 1910 in Du Quoin, the son of Guy and Pearl (Thompson) McCollum.  He married Virginia Waddell in 1936.
	He graduated from Du Quoin High School in 1928, served in the Civilian Conservation Corps from 1934 to 1937 and retired from A.E. Staley Company in 1972 after 33 years.  He was a member of the Forsyth United Methodist Church, life member of the National Civilian Conservation Corps Association, life member of Elks BPOE 401  and Staley Retirement Club.  He was an avid gardener, bowler, fisherman and Cardinal fan.
	Surviving are his wife of 67 years; two daughters, Janet  Brunner and husband Vernon Jr. of Forsyth, Sharon Tolliver and husband Richard of Flora; three grandchildren, Jill Zelhart and husband John of Maroa, Chris Brunner and wife Robbin of Oreana and Nathan Brunner and fiancee, Shawna Jensen, of Springfield; three step-grandchildren, Tiffany Julius and husband Kent of Frisco, Texas, Courtney Tolliver of Flora, Jordan Tolliver of Flora and four great-grandchildren.
	He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and one grandchild.
